2025 Advanced Ventilation Workshop

After last year’s success, Advent2025: Melbourne Neonatal Advanced Ventilation Workshop returns on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 July 2025 at RCH HELP.

This two-day event is designed for all clinical staff in neonatal intensive care, with a focus on advanced ventilation strategies – from foundational lung mechanics to hands-on ventilator setup, HFOV, non-invasive techniques, lung recruitment, advanced imaging and more. 

For 2025, we are excited to have two renowned international speakers:
Dr Neil Patel (Edinburgh, Scotland) – neonatal expert, specialising in haemodynamic assessment and management, particularly for complex conditions (like CDH), and committed to advancing neonatal care through innovative research, family-integrated care, and the development of new technologies.
Dr Anna Lavizzari (Milan, Italy) – specialist in neonatal respiratory physiology support and non-invasive respiratory support and use of Forced Oscillation Techniques to assess respiratory mechanics, and advanced lung function monitoring.  An active contributor in European neonatal and pulmonary research networks.

Also, new for 2025 – two additional workshops:
Wednesday 23rd July - Haemodynamics Masterclass
Led by Dr Neil Patel – a focused session on practical haemodynamic assessment and management.
Saturday 26th July - Jet Ventilation Workshop 
A full-day deep dive into jet ventilation – including theory, discussion, and interactive skill stations.
