2025 Perinatal Palliative Care Webinar
Gentle words for Heavy Moments: talking about end-of-life matters
The Perinatal Palliative Care Subcommittee of PSANZ invites you to join us for a thought-provoking presentation about end-of-life decision making with expert insights from paediatric palliative care consultants and a bereaved parent.
In this webinar, we will explore communication theories and practical strategies for navigating end-of-life discussions with patients who have life-limiting conditions. Our focus will be on how physicians and the wider multidisciplinary team can effectively support and prepare parents for decision-making. We will also consider what parents take away from these conversations and, ultimately, how we can develop a structured communication framework to guide and support families during these profoundly challenging moments.
This webinar will be interactive with the opportunity for Q & A with our presenters.
Speakers:
Dr Sid Vemuri – Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Consultant
Dr Nick Mills – Paediatric Palliative Care Consultant
Priyanka Saha – Mum to Lily and parent representative

2026 PSANZ + FAOPS Congress
The Congress will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, ideally located in the heart of Perth’s vibrant central business district. With easy access via Elizabeth Quay Station and a wide array of hotels, restaurants, and cultural attractions within walking distance, delegates will enjoy both convenience and an exceptional visitor experience. Pre-congress meetings will take place from 20–22 March 2026, followed by the main Congress from 22–25 March 2026.
The theme for the Congress, “Separated by Seas, Connected by Care,” captures the spirit of this collaborative event. It reflects the shared vision of both PSANZ and FAOPS—transcending geographical boundaries to unite in a commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of women, babies, and families across all communities.
